WordPress Plugin
v2.6.1
October 3rd 2026
Advally Advertising 2.6.1
Why upgrade
Advally can now connect your site to your Advally account from its own servers, without
someone signing in to wp-admin and clicking Connect.
What changed
- A new WP-CLI command,
wp advally pair-import, stores a connection Advally prepared for
your site. It checks the connection with Advally before saving anything.
What the upgrade does to your site
Nothing visible. The command only runs when someone runs it, and it never turns ads on.
v2.6.0
October 2nd 2026
Advally Advertising 2.6.0
Why upgrade
This release carries code for a feature Advally is trying on its own site first. It
changes nothing on your site.
What changed
- The plugin contains TARS, a chat that answers questions about a site from Advally's
data. It stays hidden on every site except advally.com: there is no tab, no setting
and no button for it, and the plugin sends nothing for it.
What the upgrade does to your site
Nothing visible. The upgrade sets no option for it, and uninstalling the plugin removes
everything it stores.
v2.5.2
October 2nd 2026
Advally Advertising 2.5.2
Why upgrade
A site whose theme already loads the Advally ad script without blocking the page can now
keep it that way after switching to the plugin.
What changed
advally_rules_asyncis a new option, off by default. When it is on, the plugin
loads rules.js with async. Nothing changes on a site that does not set it.
Upgrading
Nothing to change. Update from Plugins → Advally, or upload the ZIP over the existing
plugin.
v2.5.1
September 30th 2026
Advally Advertising 2.5.1
Why upgrade
When you point Bug Report at part of the page, security tokens that other plugins hide in
that element's settings no longer reach the report.
What changed
- Bug Report strips WordPress nonces from every attribute of the element you point
at, not only links and form fields. That includes a plugin's ajax URL, its JSON
settings, each image in a srcset, and _wpnonce[] fields.
Upgrading
Nothing to change. Update from Plugins → Advally, or upload the ZIP over the existing
plugin.
v2.5.0
September 29th 2026
Advally Advertising 2.5.0
Why upgrade
Bug Report is rebuilt. A report is one sentence, and it arrives with a screenshot and
the page's errors attached, so we can fix what you saw without asking you to describe it
twice.
What changed
- Bug Report is a labelled button in your site's colours. The form asks one
question, "What went wrong?". Pointing at the broken element is optional.
- Each report carries a screenshot taken when the form opens, the browser and device,
and the page's console errors and failed requests. Password fields are blanked in the
screenshot, and WordPress nonces are stripped from page URLs and form fields.
- The Send button stays readable on any theme colour.
- On hosts with a small upload limit, a report that is too large says so and resends
without the screenshot.
- The severity picker and the "Default severity" setting are gone. We set severity when
the report arrives.
- A site that takes no registrations no longer shows a "Register free" prompt.
Upgrading
Nothing to change. Update from Plugins → Advally, or upload the ZIP over the existing
plugin.
v2.4.0
September 14th 2026
Advally Advertising 2.4.0
Why upgrade
Pages with no ad fill no longer hold empty space open: standard slots and the header
leaderboard reserve no height on visitor loads. Content injection now reaches
page-builder post bodies.
What changed
- ads.txt replies carry
X-Content-Type-Options: nosniff. - The ad-position picker warns on an unknown slot, and validation names the one
blocking error.
- Better contrast on the ad placeholder border and focus order on error notices.
- Audience: a warning when a role map can over-grant ad-free to multi-role users.
Upgrading
Nothing changes until you change a setting. Update from Plugins → Advally, or upload
the ZIP over the existing plugin.
